Jack Menashe
Owner

Jack has owned Menashe and Sons for over 35 years. He is a staple of the West Seattle community and continues to grow his family as well as his business. Beginning as a young man working as a stock boy in a downtown Seattle jewelry store, he has learned from what he says “the bottom up.” He is a knowledgeable jeweler who specializes in being a full-service jewelry store with strong values and realizes the importance of customer service.

 

Josh Menashe
Senior Sales Executive
After college, Josh joined his dad in the family business. He has an eye for design, a great ability to recognize and analyze jewelry, as well as educate on diamond characteristics. Josh’s warm personality, and his passion for the business shows from the minute you walk into the store

Bruce Carlson Store Manager

Bruce has been a faithful employee and has worked along side Jack for 30 years. He is very knowledgeable in all areas of the store and is an asset to

 

 

 

Kim Gearon
Office Manager

Kim has been a valued employee for over 20 years. She handles all of the store’s ordering, billing, and almost all other office related duties.

 

Joanna Menashe
Senior Sales Associate

Joanna’s career in jewelry started as a young girl, helping her father during street fairs. Along with her five years’ experience, she is now studying online courses through the Gemologist Institute of America (GIA). Joanna has established her own customer relations and has a passion for customer service like her brother

Ilia Rennock
Sales Associate and Bench Work Specialist

Ilia began her career in jewelry in 1998. Joining our team back in 2000, she works on the sales floor, behind the bench, with a specialty in design and bead restringing.

 

Sophie Gardner
Graduate Gemologist (GIA),
Appraiser, Custom Designer

Sophie handles our official GIA report grading and appraisal service. Her specialty is creating a one-of-a-kind custom pieces of jewelry. We also carry pieces from her personal line of jewelry which can be found at www.sophiegardner.net

Katie is as close friend to the family as well as a member of the Menashe and Sons team. She has a knack for warming up to customers with her friendly demeanor and great customer service. Since the turn of the 20th century, a towering street clock has represented the presence of the neighborhood fine

jewelry store.  Street clocks, also referred to as post clocks, have been a part of the American urban scene since the mid-nineteenth century, and trace their mechanical ancestry to the great medieval tower clocks of Europe. By the 1920's, street clocks had become prominent features along many of Seattle's streetscapes, and their numbers led some observers to refer to Seattle as the "City of Clocks".

As newer forms of advertising, particularly neon lighting, became more effective, and fashionable, the popularity of street clocks waned, and were removed from the city streets.  Today, just nine clocks remain standing in the city of Seattle.

When Jack Menashe opened Menashe and Sons in 1973, he restored the West Seattle neighborhood clock to its original glory. Over the years, the clock has become an historic landmark and West Seattle icon.  Menashe and Sons is proud to be one of the last remaining owners of this landmark symbol of tradition and community.
